First off well played to the Welsh team, they were in control of that game pretty much from the off. That said however I think towards the end Ireland could have won it if it wasnt for Jackmans stupid foul. So I've been watching Jackman play and I have yet to see how he earned his caps. Every game he has messed up. Cant control a lineout, which is kinda key for the hooker! Essentially in that match He handed over the triple crown. So therefore.....

Poll #1150891 Irish Rugby Question

Is Jackman the worst thing to happen to Irish rugby in years

Now all we need to do is see England beaten by Scotland which will cheer me up and then wait for next week when we play England ourselves. So long as we beat england and all that. :)

Hi all, I am alive and well, just back online so will update properly at some stage.

And similarly to many others I'd like to add my thanks, thoughts and prayers to Gary Gygax, the father of modern roleplaying who died this week. In a roundabout way if it wasnt for him I wouldnt know most of the people I call my friends.

Thank for everything.

Subject: Cam game in Nottingham
Security: Public

Now I realise that there is no Camarilla game in Nottingham since the schism with New World of Darkness and OWOD.

This does many of us a huge favour it means all that got the Cam a bad name are playing OWOD and not watching what the rest of us are up to :)

I'd like to start a Camarilla Game in Nottingham but unlike the rest of the world the closest games to Nottingham i.e. Birmingham and Sheffield, both have the primary game as Mage, Secondary as Werewolf and Tertiary as Requiem. I dont think either have looked at NWOD Changeling as a free form yet. So with that in mind as a bit of a straw pole of the Nottinghamites reading this (and any other Cammies) would you be interested in playing in the Cam if the plan was start on Mage or Changeling dependant on interest, then add the other with Werewolf third and with perhaps a view to adding Requiem in the future if the interest is there?

Thought appreciated from everyone really!

Mood:awake awake

Since I am now more or less over the whole jetlag thing I decided that its time to post about China. This is just about the last bit the first bits can be found on the facebook blog photos perused at your leisure.

Basically what happened was after I arrived my agent started to try to convince me that going to Hohhot was a really bad plan and that I should go to another city. I was reasonably insistent on the city choice as my asthma was a deciding factor. Eventually I pushed him enough and he admitted that there was no job in Hohhot and that the contract that he sent me was in fact false.

At this point I started to put feelers out to the other companies in china, they all replied with variations of the same answer that because it was in the over halfway through a term it would be really hard to find work. My agent assured me that he would get me into a school. Everyday I asked what the story was and had he found a school for me yet. The answer was twice a day that the Directors of all the schools he contacted were out of the office and he needed to talk to them. About 3 days in he started to ask me where I kept my Passport and telling me that I should give it to him for safety. Alarm bells began to ring and as the excuses continued and the job seemed less likely I decided that it was time to cut and run before things got ugly.

I contacted my older brother, fortunately I had portable apps with me otherwise I'd have had great difficulty dealing with a computer in Mandarin! Brother booked a flight and the following morning I got the train to Beijing. Hung around the airport for 15 hours, got a BA flight to Heathrow then made my way back to Sheffield. Got back here on Saturday, since then have been sleeping and looking for a job. I start temp work on Monday so thats not too bad.

Has this experience put me off China? A little I suppose but thats as much to do with the pollution than my experience. I have to say apart from my contact the Chinese people I spoke to were all lovely, warm and friendly and very open. When I was heading to the train station to get to Beijing I asked a young guy for directions, he took me to the correct bus stop, got on the bus, paid for me to get the bus and took me to the station, easily 5/6 miles out of his way.

Has this put me off TEFL? Hell no. I just think I need to get some experience before I jump in at the deep end again! If anyone else is considering travelling this way I'd suggest that they dont go alone. Its a very odd situation when you're not only unable to speak the language but you're also not able to read. Very isolating.

So there you go thats the abridged version! I'm glad to be back where friends are so close by.

Love and hugs to all that want or need them.

Taz

You Belong in Dublin

Friendly and down to earth, you want to enjoy Europe without snobbery or pretensions.
You're the perfect person to go wild on a pub crawl... or enjoy a quiet bike ride through the old part of town.

I havent read any yet so shhhhh but....

I walked up to waterstones to get my copy, (I'm a big fan of the idea of buying books from bookshops as oppose to supermarkets etc) and I looked at the very pretty display and gasped £17.99, you're having a laugh!

I walked out to WH Smiths and got it for £10.99.

I know others have gotten it cheaper too. So what I want to know is.... who got the best deal?

£10.99 is the starting point!

ETA: Who Payed the most? I suspect all told [info]pinkymonster wins that one though! :)

My score on The Which Ancient Language Are You Test:

Linear B

(You scored)

You are Linear B. Even those who can follow you think you're all Greek to them. Which, after all, is true - Linear B being the first known text for written Greek. To most people, you're incomprehensible. But what do you care? You're tough, hard, long-enduring and have greater nobility than most. Naturally, you don't admit to borrowing extensively from your brother Linear A.

ACCOMODATION

Options:
HOSTEL: After a fair bit of digging I've come to the conclusion that Avalon House is the best way to go.
A 4 bed dorm is 27 per person per night. If we get enough deman you'l be in a 12 bed dorm. If Avalon fills up, we'll keep everyone as close together as possible. All the hostels we book will be with 5 minutes of a method of getting to UCD.

ON CAMPUS: UCD has on Campus accomodation. We've been given a quote of 55 per person per night. You get a room in a 4 bedroom flat, sharing a bathroom. These are pretty limited.

We will be making bookings at the end of next week so you have until then to contact me at anstawakeningireland@gmail.com with who you are and what you're booking.

So its been a while. Whats been happening. Nothing, totally nothing! I work, which is annoying me as you can only do call centre so long before you start to lose it. I LARP, this involves all weekends that I'm not working heading to locko, not too bad as its only about 25 mins on the train to derby and one of the lads picks me up from there.

Other than that, nothing exciting at all. I've been using face book a lot because its really quite addictive. Taryn Donnelly is the username. so you might like to find me there.

Hopefully I'll have a more exciting life one day.

Hugs to all.
